Here’s Something Anyone With A WordPress Blog Should Do … It’s Easy, Free, and Brings More Web Traffic To Your Blog!

Have you heard of “Pinging”?

If you’ve been blogging for a while you probably have. Pinging is one of the ways we can all get more web traffic to our blogs … and web traffic is what it’s all about, right?

Are you aware of just how many Ping Services there are? There are TONS of them, and you should be using them all.

Now I can hear what you’re thinking … “Oh here’s another thing Steve’s gonna want me to do that’s going to take HOURS to set up!”

Nope … if you’ve got your WordPress blog set up and hosted on your own domain in your GVO account (See the “Getting Started” page of this site) … this little web traffic enhancement is going to take you 5 minutes.

So OK … here we go:

First … What is a “Ping”?

Every time you update your blog with a new post, WordPress can send out a signal to Search Engines and Blog Directories that there’s been a change on your blog. That signal is called a “Ping”. When a Search Engine or Blog Directory receives a Ping, it will send out its “Spiders” to “crawl” your blog. Spiders are like the electronic tentacles of the search engine that “crawl” through your blog gathering words and phrases to be “indexed” and associated with keywords used in searches by other folks online.

By default, WordPress is set up to ping each time you update with a new post or page. However, it only pings ONE source! What we’re going to do here is a simple step that will configure your blog to ping 112 online sources! This is going to be easy for you since I’ve already done the research, found the ping sources, and codified them into a list that you can simply copy and paste into your WordPress Dashboard following these directions. The more your blog Pings to more different sources of Spiders, the higher you’ll rank in the various search engine indexes. The higher you are in those indexes, the more search engine generated web traffic you’ll receive.

So … here are some very simple instructions you can follow to get your WordPress blog set up to maximize your pinging … and generate more traffic to your blog:

(NOTE: If your blog privacy settings are set to block spiders, you’ll have to change that setting first. You shouldn’t have it set this way anyway, it really puts a crimp on getting people to your blog … but some themes may default to that position. To make sure you’re set up there, go to SETTINGS>PRIVACY in the left hand menu of your dashboard. You’ll only see two choices there. Make sure “I would like my blog to be visible to everyone, including search engines (like Google, Sphere, Technorati) and archivers” is the one that’s checked. If it’s not, check it and click on “Save Changes”. Then you can proceed with the following instructions.)

1) Login to your WordPress Dashboard.

2)  At the bottom of the menu on the Left Hand Side, under the heading “Settings” … Select “Writing”.

3) In the “Update Services” window you’ll find there, copy and paste the following list of Ping Services:

From now on you blog will ping ALL of these services each time you post. This will invite the spiders to crawl your site and will aid greatly in generating traffic to your site.

Listen carefully: A woman living in downtown Ontario, Canada came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard.

One of the old men explained: “His name is Wealth,” he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, “He is Success, and I am Love.” Then he added, “Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home.”

The woman went in and told her husband what was said.

Her husband was overjoyed. “How nice!!” he said. “Since that’s the case, let’s invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!”

His wife disagreed. “My dear, why don’t we invite Success?”

Their daughter was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: “Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!”

“Let us heed our daughter’s advice,” said the husband to his wife.

“Go out and invite Love to be our guest.”

The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, “Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest.”

Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other 2 also got up and followed him. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: “I only invited Love, why are you coming in?”

The old men replied together: “If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would’ve stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever he goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success!”

Easy Lead Generation

Lead generation is the life blood of your MLM business. Without a steady stream of fresh leads to  offer your opportunity to you will not be able to grow your network and your business will be dead in the water. So we all agree that leads are important.

Traditionally we have been told that the first thing we should do upon joining an MLM company is to make a list of our “warm market”, our friends and family, milkman, butcher work colleagues, mail man and just about everyone that we can think of and pitch our opportunity to them. While this may sound like a good idea at first, it soon becomes apparent the the big flaw in this strategy is the fact that these people are not looking to start a business in the first place and in the second unless you have a track record as a successful entrepreneur those that know you well are unlikely to take you seriously. For these reasons your warm market is the last place you should go to try to build your business.

Look at it this way; If you owned a business selling golfing accessories would you go to your friends and family and try to convince them to take up golf? or would you look for people who are already interested in golf and market your products to them? As a business builder you need to be targeting, only people who are actively looking for a business opportunity and are serious enough to be willing to invest money in their new business. Anyone else is a wast of your valuable time and effort.

So how do you find these people? This is the big frustration of most MLMers, where do you go to find the right people for your business. Using the golf analogy again; would you rather go door to door looking for customers, or would you rather have a well known shop in a busy mall were your customers can come to you?

Instead of chasing leads, you need to place yourself in a position that enables the right people to find you, and make the offer so attractive that they will want to sign up under you. You then need to make it easy for them to do the same, and so on down the line. If done correctly your organisation could take on a life of its own and grow faster then you ever thought possible.

There are a few great systems out there which makes the whole process very easy and automates most of your team building activities.

Prosperity Rising Review

Have you ever heard of Prosperity Rising?

Prosperity Rising is a new site that says it guarantees more CONVERTING web visitors and online advertising with very little effort or cost.

So I decided to put it to the test…

My first impression was the site looks professional and clean, with an attractive look and feel.  It is easy to read and understand.  Joining the site was easy and painless–they do offer 2 upgrade options but they are not required to gain the benefits.

The Members Area is very well laid out and intuitive–I could figure out what to do after only a few minutes and was able to get up and running in less than 5 minutes.  Inside the site, you create links and ads–the links you simply enter any URL links you use into the generator and it transforms them into “Prosperity Rising” links.  You create ads for anything you want to promote using the Prosperity Rising Ad Generator, which is very easy to use.  You can create as many links and as many ads as you like.  And they are organized in a logical way–links are displayed in the order you create them but also your 5 most recent links appear on the main page for quick reference.  Also, since the link generator is the tool you’ll use most, it is also right at the top of the main page when you login.  Very smart!

After you’ve created at least 1 link and 1 ad you can start to generate traffic.  Just use and promote the new Prosperity Rising link instead of the original source link you had.  Every time the Prosperity Rising link is clicked, the page loads followed by a cool slide-up ad window at the bottom.  It displays an ad PLUS an image with your affiliate link that goes back to Prosperity Rising.  So if anyone clicks the Prosperity Rising image they see the site, and if they signup they become your referral.  It’s a great viral feature because you can build referrals without even trying to just by using the site.

Now every time the ad window displays (your Prosperity Rising links get clicked) you earn credits that get YOUR ad displayed in the ad windows when other members’ links get clicked.  So the more clicks, the more times your ads get displayed.

And this works virally–meaning as you make referrals into Prosperity Rising (either by promoting it or just using it and visitors click the Prosperity Rising image on the ad window to join) you also earn ad credits on THEIR link clicks.  And this works up to 5 levels deep.  So you can create a massive amount of free ad views and web traffic by referring others to Prosperity Rising also.

I didn’t get to test the full effect of a big downline yet (I just got the tool) but I can tell you the rest of the site works exactly as stated–my links got clicked, I earned credits, and my ads got displayed.  Prosperity Rising even tracked my results so I know how many clicks and how many ad displays.  That was an impressive unadvertised extra feature.

There is one more benefit and feature which might be the best of them all–downline emailing.  You can email your downline with offers, promotions, or whatever you like, and here is where Prosperity Rising really shines.  They took time to make the emailing often enough that it’s valuable as a user, but no so often that it’s a burden to your downline.  But the best part about this feature (and actually the credit earning too) is that it tells you exactly how long until you can mail again.  Now THAT’s cool.

Overall I have to say I am impressed with Prosperity Rising.  It is simple yet powerful, and delivers on its promises.  Highly recommended to anyone who wants to increase traffic and advertising.

Promote YOUR Business Not Your Company

Maybe you have heard of this term: build a better mousetrap, and the world will build a path to your doorstep. When the term was coined, there weren’t many ‘better’ mousetraps around.

Today in the 21st century, better mousetraps are built on a daily basis. Just because you have a better product, doesn’t mean that the product will automatically sell itself and make you rich!
In the past, people weren’t swamped with tons of advertising. Anything new or better was easily noticed by the masses because there wasn’t much competition.

What has this got to do with MLM? If you are in network marketing, it doesn’t help if you keep on talking about how good your network marketing company is. It doesn’t matter how great their product is or how solid the company’s background .

If you are with a good company, your prospects probably know how good your company is. But the key question is this – if we waned to start a network marketing business, why should we join YOU and not the charismatic leader on stage with a thousand downlines in his team? In other words, what can YOU offer that will set you apart from the others? (Remember, you want people to join YOU, not just the company!) Our what if you do manage to get them exited about your opportunity and they remember their best friend mentioning the same company a few weeks ago and decide to go with them instead.

Yes you will need to get the word out to the people, but you need to convey the benefits of your new opportunity or product in such a way that people will want to buy YOUR brand over the other thousands of competitors out there. And remember that everyone in your company who is not in your direct up or downline are your competitors.

Most important of all, you must learn to stand out!  Show them that you are different, better and extraordinary.  You must have a unique selling point and you must tell the masses all about it.

A great way to start getting your name out there is to participate in the various MLM groups on facebook.  Introduce yourself and start sharing your thoughts, advice and experiences with the other members.

Cold Calling Doesn’t Work

You have  heard the term – ‘cold calling’?  Have you ever wondered why the practice of calling uninvited, was termed that in the first place? Because you will most probably receive a ‘chilly’ response on the other side!

Let’s be totally honest with ourselves here. You don’t like to receive a call from a stranger (unless you are extraordinarily friendly or they have just told you that you’ve won the lottery). Nobody likes to receive a call from a stranger – especially one who is trying to sell them something.

Cold calling is one of the most ineffective ways to ‘market’ a product, how warm do you think your prospect will be after you have just intruded on his or her privacy with your call. You now have to overcome tremendous resistance and have nerves of steel (to withstand the rejection). It does nothing to educate the customer about your product and you won’t get very far with building team.

In the 21st century, the seller doesn’t go to the buyer – the buyer finds the seller and the ball is in the seller’s court.

People prefer to seek out their own merchants. All they need to do is go to Google and type a few words into that little box. They don’t need a salesman to call them up during their dinner to tell them how their product or opportunity will change their life!
